How SGH submits your files to Adobe Stock, Shutterstock and Getty

All three agencies work the same way. Follow 100 files through one submission: in this example 10 files fail at each stage, so you can see where they go.

You send100files
1Upload
✖ 10 fail to upload
An upload error (SGH tries each file 3 times first), you are not logged in, or the agency's weekly limit is reached.
What happens to these 10Nothing is left on the website. In SGH they are marked as failed or unsent, with the reason.
90FILES
2The agency processes the files
✖ 10 are not ready in time
SGH waits a set time for the agency to process them, and these 10 are still not ready.
What happens to these 10Deleted from the website. In SGH they are marked as unsent.
80FILES
3Metadata and model releaseShutterstock adds the release at step 4
✖ 10 cannot be completed
Metadata is missing, or the model release cannot be attached.
What happens to these 10Deleted from the website. In SGH they are marked as failed, with the reason. Their metadata and releases in SGH are not changed.

Auto Submit?Settings → Submission
ON (default):
SGH submits ↓
OFF: all 70 stay on the website for you to finish
You submit the 70 on the agency's websiteShutterstock: attach the model release yourself too
→
⚠ SGH loses track of these 70 for goodNo agency ID, so SGH can never show you whether they were accepted or rejected
→
Right-click → the agency → Mark as SubmittedOtherwise the next run uploads them again
4SGH submits all 70 for youthen checks on the website how many really went into review
✖ 10 did not go into review
After submitting, SGH checks the website and counts the files that are really in review. 10 are not, because of any error.
What happens to these 10SGH finds them on the website and deletes them. In SGH they are marked as failed, with the reason.
60FILES
560 files in reviewSGH records each file's agency ID
✔ SGH keeps tracking these 60
It shows you later whether each one was accepted or rejected.

The expected result

60
Submitted

In review at the agency, and tracked by SGH.

40
Back in SGH

Each one is marked with its reason, and none is left on the agency website. Fix what is needed and send them again.

At every stage, your original files on your computer and their metadata in SGH are never changed or lost.

With Auto Submit ON, sending again is safe: SGH skips the files it has already submitted.

If something does not look right: start over

SGH is designed so that, whenever something goes wrong, the best fix is to start the run again from SGH.

You see files on the agency website that were neither submitted nor deleted

The run was interruptedFor example a network drop, or another error
→
Delete those files on the agency website yourself
→
Send them again from SGHA new run, from a clean start

SGH was closed or crashed during a run

Next start asks "Resume Incomplete Jobs?"
→
Always choose DiscardIt only removes SGH's record of the unfinished run
→
Delete anything left on the agency website, then send again from SGHOn Getty this can be an empty upload batch (⋮ → Delete)

Starting over never touches your original files or their metadata in SGH.
